3rd Biennial Child Protection and Welfare Social Work Conference

Since 2007, the biennial child protection and welfare social work conference has taken place at University College Cork. The aim of this conference series is to provide a space for practitioners in the area of child protection and welfare to hear about and debate new developments in the areas of research, policy and practice, and to network with colleagues. This inter-agency committee is comprised of staff and members of the Social Work Development Unit at University College Cork, the Child Protection and Welfare Social Work teams of the Health Service Executive South and the Irish Association of Social Workers Southern Branch.
The title of the third biennial conference was Protecting children post Ryan: Real or virtual change in an era of social crisis?. The last next conference took place in Áras na MacLéinn (Student Centre), University College Cork, Ireland on Friday 28th October 2011.
