How to make a Donation
There are various ways of making a donation to University College Cork.
Please choose the means that is most convenient for you. Donations can be made from anywhere in the world but if you are resident in Ireland, the USA or the UK you may be in a position to benefit from tax advantages when you give. More information on these advantages is provided below.
Online:
Credit Card/Laser – click here to make an online donation - this is a secure server and your donation will be processed safely.
Post:
Direct Debit - give monthly via direct debit. To request a direct debit form please email Karen Kelly on k.kelly@ucc.ie or +353 (0)21 490 3643 (Direct debit is currently available only to Irish residents).
Cheque – please make your cheque payable to Cork University Foundation, specifying either general development or the fund you would like to support, and send to: Development and Alumni Office, c/o Karen Kelly, UCC, Western Road, Cork, Ireland

Making a Tax Effective Donation
Are you resident in Ireland?
To make a tax effective donation in Ireland you may give online, via direct debit, credit card or cheque. If resident in Ireland please make your cheque payable to Cork University Foundation* and send to: Development and Alumni Office, c/o Karen Kelly, UCC, Western Road, Cork, Ireland.
(*Cork University Foundation is a registered charity in Ireland and gifts of €250 or more may qualify for tax relief – more information below).
Are you resident in the USA?
To make a tax effective donation from the USA, please make your cheque payable to Irish Educational Foundation Inc* and send to: Development and Alumni Office, c/o Karen Kelly, UCC, Western Road, Cork, Ireland).
(*Irish Educational Foundation Inc is a registered charity with 501 (c) 3 status – more information below. If you are a USA resident and wish to avail of tax relief please donate by cheque – online and credit card donations are not currently tax exempt in the USA).

To make a tax effective donation from the UK, please make your cheque payable to UCC Educational Foundation* and send to: Development and Alumni Office, c/o Karen Kelly, UCC, Western Road, Cork, Ireland).

More Information on Cork University Foundation’s Charitable Status in Ireland
Individuals and corporate entities, based in Ireland, can donate to University College Cork through the Cork University Foundation (CUF), and may obtain tax relief on their donations. If a donation to Cork University Foundation is to qualify for tax relief, it must be for at least €250 in any year of assessment or accounting period. There is no maximum amount which can qualify for relief and relief is also available for donations made by instalments e.g., direct debit.
Cork University Foundation (CUF) is a registered charity, number 11831, through which funds raised by the activities of the Development Office, University College Cork, Ireland are donated to the University.
Cork University Foundation is an “approved body” authorised by the Irish Revenue Commissioners for the purposes of tax relief under Section 848A and Schedule 26A of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 (as inserted by Section 45 of the Finance Act 2001).
More Information on Irish Educational Foundation’s Charitable Status in the USA
If you are resident in the USA and are liable for taxes in the USA, a tax-effective donation can be made to UCC through the Irish Educational Foundation (IEF) based in Boston, USA.
The Irish Educational Foundation is incorporated under section 501.3 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its federal ID number is 04-3115638.
More Information on UCC Educational Foundation’s Charitable Status in the UK
If you are resident in the UK and are liable for taxes there, a tax-effective donation can be made to UCC through the UCC Educational Foundation based in London, UK.
The UCC Educational Foundation is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Its charity number is 1021681.
