On Tuesday, 31 March, a group of UCC Graduates (1946-1953), now living in Dublin, visited UCC.
Eileen Kearney of the Glucksman Gallery introduced the group to the history, architecture and current exhibitions at the Gallery.
Following this was a visit to the Library (formerely a football pitch known as “The Quarry”) where Siobhán Bowman, Special Collections, introduced the Darwin Exhibition. Lunch was followed by a tour (by Michael Holland, University Curator) around the grounds including visits to the recently restored Crawford Observatory, the Stone Corridor and the Aula Maxima and Graduates Room. After refreshments at the Common Room the graduates paid a visit to the Honan Chapel, passing the newer additions to campus such as the Devere Hall, O’Rahilly building and the new Research Library.
