ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENTS 2009-2010

NEW DEGREE PROGRAMMES

In 2009/10 a number of major new undergraduate programmes were introduced for entry in 2010/11 reflecting an innovative approach to curriculum development and further utilisation of the UCC credit framework in response to student and employer demand. Curriculum development at the undergraduate level was matched by a number of new degree and diploma programmes at postgraduate level. A number of programmes have specifically ‘designed-in’ opportunities for progression and exit points along particular award pathways providing flexibility in delivery method and opportunities for students to learn at a pace that meets their particular needs. The new suite of postgraduate programmes includes a number of highly innovative programmes designed in collaboration with industry, local and international partners and professional bodies.
