Support for publishing in UCC

Our objective is to make it easier for UCC authors to publish their research, either on the College web site, or with a traditional paper or electronic publisher. The techniques include:

• reducing the time spent on manual formatting by using automated software;
• improving the typographic quality of the finished output;
• making the documents reusable (for example, extracting a chapter from a thesis for republishing as an article in a journal);
• producing finished-format ("camera-ready") output acceptable to publishers;
• storing the documents in a form which preserves them for posterity;
• providing a stable location for documents where other authors can reference them;
• providing facilities for self-publishing for individuals, conference proceedings, and online journals.
