IRCHSS THEMATIC GRANTS IN THE DEPARTMENT

PROJECT TITLE:

“Gender equality, Religious Diversity and Multicultural politics in contemporary Ireland: an analysis of conflicting claims, legal and policy responses"

Principal Investigator:

Dr. Siobhan Mullally - Law Department UCC

Associate Researchers: Dr.Linda Connolly Sociology Dept and Dr. Caitriona Ni Laoire Geography Dept

This project explores legal and policy strategies to move beyond the current polarisation of debates between feminism and multiculturalism. It focuses on conflicts between gender equality and religious practices in contemporary Ireland. The project comes at a critical time in policy debates on integration and social cohesion.

Irish Protestants in the European Context: Commonalities and Differences between Protestants in Cork City and County (Ireland) and in the Departement of the Gard (France)

(2) IRCHSS Thematics Project (2005-7) 'Irish Protestants in the European Context: Commonalities and Differences between Protestants in Cork City and County (Ireland) and in the Département of the Gard (France)' (with Professor Patrick Cabanel, Université de Toulouse-le-Mirail).
