For all non-EU students - Immigration Registration information is now available

16 Oct 2009

There are a number of changes since Immigration Registration Information was made available in 2007:

1. The cost is now €150 (increased from €100).

2. Students are now required to show proof of their medical insurance.  This is not a new requirement.  Immigration have decided to monitor it more closely since it emerged that many students to not have private medical insurance.  Students wishing to purchase health insurance can do so by logging on to http://www.ucc.ie/en/international/StudentInformationandServices/PracticalLifeattheUniversity/StudentHealthandInsurance/ The cheapest rate is Plan A which works out at a euro per day.  Students can pay monthly.

3. Students will now be required to produce a mini statement as well as their bank statement confirming that they have access to €1,500.

Further details are attached.

Please note failure to register with Immigration may have serious repercussions, including deportation and barring from other EU countries.
