NUI Diploma in Business Management
The next programme will commence in 2012 (date to be determined) if there is a sufficient number of registrations.
Introduction
This innovative Programme has been developed by FÁS and University College Cork and is designed to address the special needs of middle and senior managers in a rapidly changing business environment.
Aims and objectives
• To develop and enhance interpersonal and communication skills
• To introduce best practice business techniques
• To introduce participants to the theory and practice of change management
• To develop an appreciation of practical finance and information technology
• To develop an in-company project which will be driven by the participant and an in-company team.
Who should attend
The Programme is directed at middle and senior management level in the Food and Drinks sector. Companies will derive most benefit if a number of managers can attend at any one time as this will enhance the team building process.
A third level qualification is not a necessary prerequisite for entry to the Programme.

Learning approach
The Programme will be run mainly on a two-day per month residential workshop basis to take account of the needs and time constraints of participants. Workshops will consist of lectures and case studies presented by national and international academic and business practitioners. Syndicate team work is actively used throughout the Programme to stimulate active learning. In-company projects will also be identified and executed by each participant. Successful candidates will be awarded a National University of Ireland “Diploma in Business Management”.
