The Department marked the retirement of Dr Elizabeth Twohig at a function held on 8th November. Dr Twohig is a well-known prehistorian, with a specialist interest in the megalithic art of western Europe. She has worked in the Department as a student researcher and lecturer for the past forty years, during which time she made a major contribution to our academic programmes. To mark her retirement, the Department invited Professor Richard Bradley to deliver a valedictory lecture on the subject of Bronze Age rock art in Scandinavia. This was followed by a reception at Jennings Restaurant in Cork, at which staff and guests, including many of Elizabeth’s past and present students, attended.
