The Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Patrick Wallace as Adjunct Professor in Archaeology. Dr Wallace is director of the National Museum of Ireland and is director of the museum’s Dublin city excavation programme. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the area of Viking research and early urbanism. His appointment supports the recent establishment of a Viking and Early Medieval Research Group in the Department.
