Student recruitment initiatives from the College of Business and Law 

School Visits:  September - May I am available to visit schools to talk to senior cycle students about their course choices.  I will give a presentation on all of the degree programmes offered by the College of Business and Law.  I can also arrange for a lecturer teaching on any of the programmes to visit your school.  Please contact me to book a visit by phone (021-4205102) or email a.wallace@ucc.ie.

Law Academy - Bookings are now accepted for the next Law Academy.  This is an opportunity for high achieving students who are considering the study of law to attend a one-day “taster” session of law lectures, a Moot Court and a student forum.  The Autumn session is for Leaving Cert students only and will be held during the mid-term break (1st-3rd November, 2011).  The Academy is free to students. Places (20 per day) will be allocated on a first come, first served basis with a maximum of up to 5 students from any one school. Therefore, early booking is essential through your Guidance Counsellor! A further Law Academy will take place during the mid-term break in February 2012 subject to demand.   Further details can be obtained by emailing a.wallace@ucc.ie.

School Competitions - Details of the Law Essay Competition will be sent to schools on 12th September 2011.  The closing date for this competition will be Friday 25th November 2011.  Further details can be obtained from the Law Faculty website http://www.ucc.ie/law.

The Transition Year Business Projects (sponsored by Bank of New York Mellon in association with Cork Chamber) will be launched in January 2012. 

Campus Visits - During the University’s two academic terms we encourage small group visits to campus.  Prospective students wishing to experience a lecture in their preferred discipline within the College of Business and Law can email a.wallace@ucc.ie to arrange an appointment.

Advisory Service - I also offer an advisory service for prospective students (second level and mature) on their course choices throughout the year.
