The Junior Certificate Business Studies Parchment Ceremony took place on Monday 17^th October at 7pm at Devere Hall, Aras na Mac Leinn.  Hosted by Professor Irene Lynch-Fannon, Head College of Business and Law, this event honoured students who achieved an A Grade in their Junior Certificate Higher Business Studies examination 2011.  Over 160 students from the top feeder schools to UCC from Cork City and County received their parchments and an address from Professor Lynch-Fannon.  The Head of College was delighted to acknowledge these students’ academic attainment.

The Vice-President for the Student Experience Mr Con O’Brien welcomed the students, their parents and teachers to University College Cork.  Mr Dermot Breen, Corporate and Legal Affairs Director at Tesco Ireland was the UCC Alumnus guest speaker and provided positive encouragement to the parchment recipients. Mary O’Sullivan, President of the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland also addressed the audience. The aim of this event is to encourage students to continue their study of business to third level.
