Professor Irene Lynch Fannon

Biography

Irene Lynch-Fannon is a graduate of UCD (BCL 1982); Oxford University (BCL 1986, Senior Scholar, Somerville College) and the University of Virginia (Doctor of Juridical Science 1999). She qualified as a Solicitor in Ireland in 1985 and practised in London before becoming an academic. She has been a member of staff in UCC since 1987. She has been Head of Department (1999-2002) and Dean (2000-2002). She has published over 70 research pieces both nationally and internationally (the majority sole authored), including books, articles and chapters on Company Law, Corporate Governance and Labour and Employment Law, most recently in the area of comparative EU-US corporate governance and regulatory models. She is currently an extern examiner for DCU.

In 2000 she served on the Audit Review Committee established by the Government following the Public Accounts Committee Enquiry into DIRT and other financial irregularities. She was also a member of the Business Regulation Forum 2005-2007 and is currently a member of the High Level Group on Business Regulation (2007-present). In 2002-2003 she was a Visiting Professor at Cleveland Marshall College of Law in addition to holding the Baker Hostetler Chair at that law school for the academic year 2003/2004.

She continues to be involved in research on transatlantic corporate and business regulation and co-operation. From July 2008, Prof. Lynch-Fannon is interim Head of the College of Business and Law, which is one of four constituent Colleges in UCC, encompassing the Commerce and Law Faculties.

Colman Quain

Biography

Colman holds a B Comm from UCC and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde. He has worked in a variety of sectors in the UK, including education, enterprise development, not for profit and the corporate sectors.  He returned to Ireland in 2000 to become Commercial Manager of Cork Greyhound Stadium,  before joining UCC as Commerce Faculty Administrator in 2003. Colman was appointed College Manager in January 2010.

Colette O'Sullivan

Biography

Colette is a Certified Public Accountant who worked as a Financial Accountant in industry for a number of years before joining the Finance Office, UCC in 2002. Colette initially worked in the Office of Research Grants and Contracts, before moving to Management Accounting. In 2003 she moved to the School of Nursing and Midwifery, this was the first Finance role in a Department outside the Finance Office. In March 2009 Colette commenced her current post of College Finance Analyst with the College of Business and Law.

Frances Coyne

Biography

Frances joined UCC in 1990 and was initially appointed to the newly established International Education Office.   From there she moved to the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.  Frances took up her current position of Administrator in the College of Business and Law in 2007.  She also holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from UCC.

Senan Ensko

Biography

Graduated from UCD with a MA in Modern History and a postgraduate Diploma in Arts Administration, worked as a researcher with the Clare Heritage and Genealogical Centre, before moving on to Dublin City University where I was the administrator for the University’s student work placement programme. Is currently the administrator for UCC’s Executive MBA programme and administrative support to the office of the College of Business & Law.

Anne Wallace

Biography

Anne Wallace is an MSc Government graduate and has worked in a number of positions within UCC before her appointment to the College of Business and Law as Student Recruitment and Liaison Officer.  Within this role she has joint responsibility for the promotion of Law and Commerce undergraduate degree programmes.  This involves extensive promotional activity including school visits, information evenings, careers fairs as well as the production of promotional material, marketing and organising both law and commerce specific promotional events aimed at the target group (16-18 year olds) such as the Law Essay Competition and the Commerce Faculty Transition Year Business Projects. Anne also coordinates university wide events such as the UCC Open Days and First Year Orientation/Registration on behalf of the College.
