The Irish final of the 10th Chinese Bridge Competition for world college students was held in UCD on 26th March 2011. Tricia Kehoe from UCC School of Asian Studies represented UCC at the competition and won the first prize.

The 2nd Chinese Bridge (Chinese Proficiency Competition) for Secondary School Students in Ireland will take place on 7th May 2011 at UCC.

Lecturer won the 'Prize for Innovation'
Wang Huarong, a Chinese language teacher from UCC’s Confucius Institute, won the 'Prize for Innovation' at the 10th International Chinese Language Teaching Conference. The Conference was held in China on 18 August 2010. It was attended by more than 400 scholars and teachers from 38 countries.

The Establishment of the Confucius Classroom in Cork
Irelanmd's first two Confucius Clasrooms were established in Christ King Girls Secondary School and St Aloysius Secondary School in May 2010.
