On June 3rd, the 2nd Chinese language competition for secondary school students in Ireland – “Chinese Bridge” – took place in UCC. Many participants from different school in the Cork area took part.

2011 Easter Camp for Secondary School Students

Student Won the First Prize at the Irish Final of the 10th Chinese Bridge Competition

The Irish final of the 10th Chinese Bridge Competition for world college students was held in UCD on 26th March 2011. Tricia Kehoe from UCC School of Asian Studies represented UCC at the competition and won the first prize.

The 2nd Chinese Proficiency Competition

The 2nd Chinese Bridge (Chinese Proficiency Competition) for Secondary School Students in Ireland will take place on 7th May 2011 at UCC.

The First Youth Chinese Test (YCT) in Ireland

A YCT test was held by UCC Confucius Institute on 12th March 2011. This is the first time that the YCT has been conducted in Ireland.

Lecturer won the 'Prize for Innovation'

Wang Huarong, a Chinese language teacher from UCC’s Confucius Institute, won the 'Prize for Innovation' at the 10th International Chinese Language Teaching Conference. The Conference was held in China on 18 August 2010. It was attended by more than 400 scholars and teachers from 38 countries.
