Hello Dentistry,

This years IDSA, which will be taking place in Cork on the weekend of Friday the 24th of February. Dent Soc have been working hard to ensure that this years conference will be the best yet. We expect, with Queen's (Belfast) and Trinity (Dublin) there will be as much as last year's IDSA, wiwht just over 400 students. For the Friday night fancy dress ball we've rented out the entire New Bar in UCC (on campus at the student center). There'll be free food, drinks offers, and games and much more, along with a DJ. On the Saturday morning, the conference will start at 10am in the Devere Hall on UCC main campus. Refreshments will be provided and there will be information stands from sensodyne, dentsply, listerine, Dental Protection, Bank of Ireland. There will be members of the staff addressing the conference, commencing at 11:30 am. The conference will finish at about 1pm. The IDSA Ball tickets for that evening will be handed out during the conference. *You must attend the conference in order to collect your ticket.*

The Saturday night IDSA ball is taking place in the Rochestown Park Hotel beginning at about 6:30pm. More updates on this after the meeting with the manager of the hotel this tuesday so we will get back to you with more details on the ball theme, exact starting time and a reduced room price for IDSA students. Costs for the IDSA ticket is 50 euros, and afters at 15 euros. Tickets can requested from class reps, with a deadline on Monday the 13th of Feburary.

Dent Soc are also pleased to announce the winners of DentSoc's IDSA slogan competition are: Conor O' Meara (3rd Year) and Aoife O' Neill (3rd year). Congratulations to you both. They have each won a free room in the Rochestown Park Hotel on IDSA Ball night.
