Sponsorship Opportunities
The Careers Service offers employers the chance to advertise in our publications. The Career Journal is compiled each year to help students with their career choice. It contains practical information on job hunting skills, cv's and job applications, graduate employers, postgraduate options and how the Careers Service can help students achieve their career objectives. This year we have included an academic planner which will help students to manage and organize their time throughout the academic year. It is circulated annually to 4000 final year and postgraduate students. This is a self-financing publication funded solely by sponsoring employers.
You can also sponsor leaflets or literature produced by Career Service staff which are available free of charge in the Information Centre.

Presentations
The Milkround is the term used when employers visit campus in the first stage of their annual recruitment campaign. The visit normally takes the form of a company presentation lasting from 20 minutes to one hour followed in many cases by an informal reception. Company presentations usually take place in the first and second term of each academic year.
The Careers Service will:
- Provide suitable venues for your presentation and/or reception within the limitations imposed by the university
- Provide audio-visual equipment as requested within the limitations imposed by the university
- Publicise your presentation broadly on campus
Benefits to the Employer:
Many companies take on new graduates every year and these companies find the milkround a vital step in their recruitment campaign. The main benefits to the company are:
- The heightening of company profile and reputation among the student population thereby attracting a good number of graduate applications.
- Employers of graduates are competing with each other for the same prospective graduates each year. It is necessary to compete with rival companies for good recruits and thus gain a competitive advantage.

Information Stands on Campus
This is an alternative to a presentation. You are allocated a table in a busy location on campus. This allows you to:
- Raise student awareness of your company, your graduate requirements and application process.
- Meet informally with students.
- Distribute recruitment literature.

In the Careers Information Centre students learn about and communicate with potential employers through:
- Access to employer reference files.
- Storage and handling of employer take-away brochures and application forms.
- Facilities for students to watch employer promotional videos and CD Roms.
- Access to employer websites.
- Collection of application forms on request.
