General Information

The Department of Food Business and Development is a leader in research and teaching in all aspects of the food supply chain, from farm to consumer. The Department employs 15 full-time academic staff, 6 research staff, and 85 full-time postgraduate research students.

The Department staff conducts research in Food Economics; Food Management; Food Marketing; Co-operative Business and Rural Development. All aspects of the Food Chain, from farm to consumer, are researched, including food safety issues.

MSc in FOOD BUSINESS 2007/2008

The Department of Food Business and Development offers a two-year full-time MSc in Food Business that is ideally suited to graduates who wish to pursue a career in strategic marketing or management in the dynamic food sector. A food industry placement is a central part of this programme. Candidates must have achieved a First or Second Class Honours Degree. Relevant degrees include Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Studies, BA, BSc Food Science, BSc Food Technology, BSc Nutritional Sciences, BAgrSc., or equivalent degrees. The closing date for completed applications is the 1st July 2007 and applications can be submitted on-line via the Postgraduate Applications Centre at http://www.pac.ie
