Discovery
Osmium was discovered by Tennant in 1803AD.
Occurrence
Osmium occurs in iridosmine, and in nickel ores.
Properties
Osmium is an extremely hard brittle lustrous metal.
Osmium is difficult to fabricate, but can be sintered under
hydrogen at 2000 degC.
Reactions
Uses
Osmium is used to produce hard alloys.
Osmium is used in the form of osmium tetroxide in fingerprint powders.
