Terbium
Terbium, Tb, is a metallic element, which is found in the lanthanide
series of inner transition metals in
Group IIIa of the
periodic table.

Discovery
Terbium was discovered by Mosander in 1843 AD.
Occurrence
Terbium occurs in
- Cerite,
- Gadolinite, and
- other Rare Earth ores
Preparation
Terbium is a silvery metal, which is stable in air.
Uses
Terbium is used as an activator for the green phosphors in TV tubes.
