Discovery
Strontium was first isolated as a metal by Sir
Humphery Davy in 1808AD.
Occurrence
Strontium is found in the minerals Celestine and Strontonite.

Strontium is prepared by the electrolysis of fused anhydrous strontium
chloride.
Properties
Strontium has physical and chemical properties which resemble calcium.

Strontium is detected by the crimson red colouration it imparts to a flame.
