Polyvinyl chloride, PVC, (i.e. polychloroethane) is an
industrially important tough white solid material, manufactured
by the polymerisation of vinyl chloride, CH2=CHCl
(i.e. Chloroethene). The rigidity of PVC plastic
may be controlled by the addition of a plasticizer.
