Book Launch
On 18 January Prof Graham Allen
of the School of English, UCC, launched Jason Harris & Keith
Sidwell, eds, Making Ireland Roman
(Cork University Press, 2009).
The book contains several ground-breaking articles about Irish Latin in the early-modern period. Of particular interest to the Ad Fontes project is the first contribution, Diarmaid Ó Catháin, 'Some reflexes of Latin learning and of the Renaissance in Ireland c.1450-c.1600'. The launch provided an opportunity to promote the work of the Centre for Neo-Latin Studies in UCC, and to highlight the activities of the Ad Fontes project.  |
