We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Statutes I. to LXXXV. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modification and amendments hereinafter set forth.
Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary contained in Statutes I. to LXXXV. of University College, Cork, the annual stipends of the President, of the professorships and lectureships set forth in this chapter and of the Officers of the College shall, as from the dates specified hereunder, be those hereinafter set forth.
The annual stipend of the President shall be £6,660 as from 1 April, 1970, and £7,290 as from 1 January, 1971. He shall also be entitle to residence, fuel and light valued for pension purposes at £570 per annum as from 1 April, 1970, and at £621 per annum as from 1 January, 1971. In addition, he shall receive a non-pensionable allowance in respect of the expenses of his office, the annual amount of such allowance to be £900 as from 1 April 1970, and £984 as from 1 January, 1971.
The annual stipend of the Registrar shall be £888 as from 1 April, 1970, and £972 as from 1 January, 1971. He shall also be entitled to residence, fuel and light valued for pension purposes at £570 per annum as from 1 April, 1970, and at £621 per annum as from 1 January, 1971. The Governing Body may, at its discretion, pay a cash allowance equivalent to the pensionable value of this perquisite.
(a)
(i) The annual stipend of each of the full-time professorships set out in this sub-section shall, as from 1 April, 1970, be £3,520 increasing by annual increments of £144 to a maximum of £4,240, and shall, as from 1 January, 1971, be £3,804 increasing by annual increments of £159 to a maximum of £4,659:

Provided that the stipend to be paid to each of the present holders of the professorships against the title of which an asterisk has been placed shall be that provided in sub-section (ii) of this paragraph.
(ii) The annual stipend of each of the full-time professorships set out in this sub-section shall, as from 1 April, 1970, be £3,720 increasing by annual increments of £144 to a maximum of £4,440, and shall, as from 1 January, 1971, be £4,005 increasing by annual increments of £159 to a maximum of £4,800:

Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary contained in Statutes I. to LXXX., of University College, Cork, the annual stipends of the professorships and lectureships in the Faculty of Dairy Science as set forth in this chapter shall, as from the dates specified hereunder, be those hereinafter set forth.
(a) The annual stipend of the full-time Professorship of Agriculture shall, as from 1 April, 1970, and 1 January, 1971, be as provided in Chapter I., section 4(a)(i), of this Statute.
(b) The annual stipend of each of the full-time professorships set out hereunder shall, as from 1 April, 1970, and 1 January, 1971, be as provided in Chapter I., section 4(a)(ii), of this Statute:

Statute LXVII., Chapter IV., section 2, as already amended, is hereby further amended to the intent that the amount of the children's allowances shall be as set out hereunder:
As and from 1 April, 1970, £75 per annum in respect of each qualified
child;
As and from 1 January, 1971, £81 per annum in respect of each qualified
child;
and said Statute LXVII., Chapter IV., section 2, shall be read and
construed accordingly.
Statute LXXXIV., Chapter IV., section 4, is hereby amended by the insertion of the words "or scientific" after the word "medical" where it occurs in that section.
This amendment shall be deemed to be operative as from the date of coming into operation of said Statute LXXXIV.
Statute LXXX., Chapter XX., is hereby amended by the substitution of the
following for section 3 thereof:
"3. The duties of the lecturer shall be to lecture in Social
Administration under the direction of the Professor of Social Theory and
Institutions for all degrees, diplomas and certificates of the University and
for all diplomas and certificates of the College. He shall also examine in
Social Administration for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so,
for the University. He shall in addition, discharge such other duties
appropriate to the office as shall be assigned to him by the said Professor of
Social Theory and Institutions."
This statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I, to LXXXV. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statutes LXXXVI. of University College, Cork or Stat. LXXXVI. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
This Statute shall come into operation on the nineteenth day of January, 1971.
